About us

Set up in 1990, we are a local charity providing a value for money, quality transport service enabling people to maintain their independence.

For full details as to how we got started, please follow this link to an article by our founder, Jill Elson: www.jillelson.co.uk/index.php/exmouth-community-transport/

We currently operate three vehicles :-

The "Ring and Ride" Community bus  -  a wheelchair accessible 16 seat minibus with a passenger lift.

The "Community" Bus - an 8 seat (MPV) wheelchair accessible vehicle with tail lift.

The "Whizabout" a 4 seat (or three-seat plus wheelchair ) (MPV) wheelchair accessible vehicle with ramp.

The Ring and Ride service is part funded by Devon County Council, East Devon District Council, and the Town and Parish Councils within our service area, together with additional sponsorship and donations to complement our revenue.

The "Community" bus and the "Whizabout" are entirely funded by revenue, donations and sponsorship.

The Charity has four trustees and a Management Committee with a small office team which includes one volunteer. We have three part-time contracted drivers to cover our Ring and Ride service. Our other services rely on a number of volunteer drivers, without whom we could not operate.
